Description
This beautiful, spacious farmhouse is set in a wonderful quiet position half way between Florence and Siena in the heart of the Chianti district, surrounded by vineyards, olive groves and cypress trees in a landscape modeled by centuries of farmers' patient toil. The views encompass the Castle of Santa Maria Novella and stretch as far as the towers of San Gimignano across the rolling countryside.
The house is set on three floors and sleeps up to nine people. It is spacious (3,250 square feet) with five air conditioned bedrooms each with a large closet; four bathrooms + 1 wc; a large sitting room with working fireplace, two halls and a big eat-in kitchen with a old decorative wood burning oven.
The villa is furnished with original antiques. Two loggias, garden with lawn furniture, BBQ and 5x10 swimming pool. Dishwasher, washing machine, clothes dryer, large refrigerator with freezer and ice maker, Air Conditioning in the bedrooms, HI-FI, Satellite TV. Mosquito Screens. Telephone only for local calls, WIFI Internet Connection, Mobile cell phone for long distance calls.
The ground floor consists in a double bedroom with ensuite bathroom (tub) (there are three steps to access the bedroom) TV room, kitchen, loggia, WC.
The first floor features another double bedroom with wardrobe and ensuite bathroom (tub and separate shower), a twin bedded room, a single bedroom, a bathroom (shower), a large living room with fireplace and access to the loggia.
The upper floor consists in a double bedroom with ensuite bathroom with shower.
PLEASE NOTE THAT:
Although totally restored La Novellina maintains its ancient structure therefore couldn't be suitable for people with walking difficulties.
The kitchen, the TV room and the yellow bedroom, although at the ground floor are not on the same level. Guests with walking difficulties have to know that although they can access the yellow bedroom and the kitchen from the exterior (avoiding the internal steps), the rest of the floor has short flights of stairs throughout. The access to the last floor bedroom is 20 cm lower than usual so watch your head going up to this bedroom!!
The beds in the twin bedroom, cannot be joined: they sit against opposite walls with a doorway in between.

The location could not be better. Set on an idyllic hillside 35 minutes (28km/16 ml.) from Florence and 45 minutes (38km/27ml) from Siena.
Within the radius of a few miles, you can find Etruscan tombs, medieval cities, 14th-century castles, and Baroque churches. Or you can just relax at home and enjoy the beautiful view!
Florence can be reached also by train from Certaldo train station, leaving your car there you can avoid the traffic problems.
