Drawback: the fence towards the lake is very low, it could be dangerous for kids that have to be under surveillance

Ossuccio sits on the shores of Lake Como west branch, it is a pretty village with a dramatic backdrop of rugged mountains. The village, which has origins dating back to the Romans faces the little island of Comacina.

There are several restaurants, coffee bars and food shops in the village. Ferries for Bellagio, Varenna and Menaggio depart from Cadenabbia 5 km.

The Sacro Monte di Ossuccio (literally ‘Sacred Mount of Ossuccio’) is one of the nine sacri monti in the Italian regions of Lombardy and Piedmont which were inscribed on the UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites in 2003.

The devotional complex is located on a prealpine crag some 200 metres above the western shore Lake Como, facing Isola Comacina and some 25 km from the city of Como.
